This trip was an immersion into Vietnamese culture, including conversations and experiences with local people. We were so immersed, after being home for a week Vietnam is still in my dreams every night and in my thoughts at certain times during my day. Motorcycle rides with special cultural stops along the way through Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City were incredible, informative and exhilarating. All our meals were fresh and delicious, maybe seven courses were too many, but I learned not to eat all of each course. Our hotels were very, very nice, comfortable beds, happy and helpful employees, and nice accommodations. I don't know any different than what we did in terms of places and people that we visited, but it all seems pretty perfect to me with the amount of time we had. We sure packed a lot into the trip! Tho, our tour guide was unbelievably wonderful. I loved how he shared his life experiences and to learn how they have impacted him and what his future holds. I think he's a notch above most, super great to have him. Marianna's work to pull this together was great. Jen was her usual wonderful self being the glue that holds everyone together and checks in on everyone willingly, kindly, naturally, inconspicuously and joyously. For me this trip was about moving forward, moving on - that's what seems prevalent and important for the people living there. We all need to move on too, that's an important topic, how do we let go of the past and see right now as the most important moment. With all the bus rides involved, that's enough time for contemplation, offerings and specific poem or idea sharing, at least it is for me. Millie's poems shared were perfect. I'm extremely grateful for this trip and the ease at which 16 women, plus Thor, navigated each day. I know there was a lot going on behind the scenes but to me to turned out just as it should have. Much appreciation and praise for all the good work done to make this trip a huge success. Thank you!
