September 16 – 30, 2027
Walk the Camino de Santiago from Astorga to Santiago de Compostela — a journey through Spain’s heartland where open skies and ancient paths invite stillness, clarity, and renewal.
Our 2027 journey during a particularly festive Jubilee Year begins in Astorga and follows the Camino Francés west toward Santiago de Compostela, walking through mountain villages and rolling countryside and visiting meaningful landmarks like the Cruz de Ferro and O Cebreiro before completing our pilgrimage in Santiago. This year, don't be surprised if you hear bagpipes in the woods as you approach Santiago and get to experience the Botafumeiro during the pilgrim's mass at the cathedral.
Along the way, you’ll explore your inner journey through The Work of Byron Katie, guided reflections, and moments of quiet woven into each day. Whether you join to deepen your spiritual practice, find clarity and renewal through walking, or simply savor time with kindred women, the Camino offers a rhythm that restores what the world has worn thin.
Together, we’ll walk in sisterhood — carried by the rhythm of our feet, the laughter of shared meals, and the grace of a path that has welcomed seekers for more than a thousand years.
Participants should have a moderate level of fitness and some training in long-distance walking before joining the trip. Come with a traveling partner or come alone and meet wonderful new friends along ‘The Way’.

Growth is at the heart of our journey together. We invite you to read I Need Your Love—Is That True? by Byron Katie, a beautiful foundation for reflection and meaningful conversation along ‘The Way’.
Before departure, we’ll gather on Zoom to connect, review logistics, and share intentions. You’re also invited to join your Camino hosts, for an optional three-session online workshop — included with the trip — to explore the book, practice The Work of Byron Katie, and prepare for the journey ahead.
Arrive in Astorga, Spain, a city of Roman origins crowned by Gaudí’s Episcopal Palace—and a fitting beginning to our Camino together.
We’ll gather as a group on September 17 for our welcome, an introduction to the HHJ program and time to explore Astorga before sharing our first dinner together.
Our first days on ‘The Way’ take us from Astorga into the mountains, through small villages and some of the Camino’s most meaningful landscapes.
Along the way, we’ll reach the Cruz de Ferro, where pilgrims traditionally leave a stone representing something they are ready to release, before descending through the beautiful Bierzo region to Villafranca del Bierzo.
From vineyards and river valleys, the Camino begins climbing toward Galicia and the storied village of O Cebreiro.
This stretch brings one of our steeper climbs, expansive mountain views and quieter stretches of trail before descending through Galicia toward Triacastela.
The landscape softens as we continue through Galicia, passing through the historic village of Samos and its centuries-old monastery before reaching Sarria.
From there, we continue through forests, farmland and stone villages toward Portomarín and Palas de Rei, following the familiar yellow arrows west toward Santiago.
Our final days on ‘The Way’ carry us through the rural Galician countryside toward Santiago de Compostela.
On September 29, we’ll climb Monte do Gozo for our first glimpse of the Cathedral towers before walking the final miles into Santiago — completing our Camino together and celebrating with our final group dinner.
After breakfast, our time together in Spain comes to a close — but the journey doesn’t end here.
Depart Santiago carrying the memories, friendships and insights gathered along ‘The Way’ with you as your Life Camino continues.
We will host a group reunion to share highlights and further reflection after we get home. There will also be opportunities to continue to practice The Work of Byron Katie and to stay in touch through the new Honest Heart Journeys Community hosted online.
The adventure doesn’t end here—there’s more to discover, explore, and grow into together. We hope you’ll join your Honest Heart sisters on a future trip!
